So, I've been somewhat quiet about this and if you haven't seen me in a while this will certainly come as a surprise, but on January 15th, 2023 (my 34th Birthday), I suffered a stroke. It was a freak thing due to a tear in one of my arteries that caused a clot to form and rock my world upside down. There are still a handful of unanswered questions, but for some peace of mind, I am beyond thankful to report that I'm on track toward a full recovery.

"Lucky" is a song that grew out of a short mantra I would play every morning during the early stages of my recovery to soothe my fears and anxiety. The first months after it all happened were scary. I had to move slowly - every step felt uneasy and triggered panic as if it would happen all over again. I felt like a sitting duck, not knowing what to expect - that happened and here I am kind of thing. Playing music was one thing that always seemed to calm me down and brought me peace, so anytime I felt afraid I played. That led to the mantra, which then led to the verses and creation of my new song, "Lucky". The chorus came later in the form of bigger-picture questions and recognitions. What does it all mean? I am walking away from this thing and how do I really feel about that? Anywho, I am really pleased with how the song turned out and wanted to share it with all of you. If it helped me find peace, maybe it could help someone else and hopefully it will.

We all have so much to be thankful for - more than we allow ourselves to recognize in everyday life. We’re all lucky in one way or another and should take a moment, once in a while, away from all the noise, and reflect on that. I love all of you - enjoy:)
